On 8 May 2024 OGA launched its Ashanti Region chapter at the Wesley Methodist Church Conference Hall in Juaben Municipality. About 200 orange farmers attended, with support from Eastfield Farms, ANKAA Tropical Oranges and Citriville.
OGA’s President, Nana Yaw Baffour Frimpong, set out what members receive: reliable markets, farm inputs and training. Dr Andrews Opoku of KNUST led a training session on good agricultural practices for citrus orchards.
The Municipal Director of Agriculture, Mr Alex K. Adu Gyamfi, called on the government to include orange production in its flagship agricultural programmes.
